Runoff from heavy rain more than 10 inches
Fort Cavazos, Texas — Heavy rains are expected to reach as much as 10 inches in the next three days.
Runoff from heavy rain will flood creeks, streams, street intersections, culverts and underpasses. Low lying places that normally flood could become death traps.
Residents traveling in the areas surrounding the Fort Cavazos range should not not cross any flood area.
“Turn around don`t drown” is the catch phrase being used by senior officials at Fort Cavazos. Travelers should not drive where water covers the road, officials warned.
Even SUVs and pickup trucks will be swept away by as little as two feet of rushing water, officials continued.
