FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – The 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command established its Strong Sergeants initiative in April to ensure that all 13th ESC sergeants and staff sergeants become Strong Sergeants who are experts in their professions and basic Soldiering skills, caring and empathic leaders, and change agents who prevent and mitigate the effects of corrosive behaviors.
Strong Sergeants consists of a two-week training period covering the basic technical and tactical skills, knowledge and attributes that a noncommissioned officer should possess. This training ensures NCOs understand the duties and responsibilities expected of them as U.S. Army Soldiers.
At 10:00 a.m. on May 26, Strong Sergeants will train at the Hargrove Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) Facility which replicates the tactical complexities unique to urban terrain. Leadership, cadre and Strong Sergeants participants will be available to discuss and answer questions regarding the aspects of the two-week program and its effectiveness in strengthening the unit.
Please RSVP by 4:00 p.m. on May 24 with your name, phone number, vehicle make, model, color, year and tag number in order to be added to the range access pass.
Interested media should call or email Capt. Tyson Friar prior to 4:00 p.m. May 24 at (580) 284-3185 or tyson.l.friar.mil@mail.mil. On May 26 media will meet with the public affairs point of contact in the southside parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitors Center at 9:30 a.m.
In the event of adverse weather, the start time will be delayed.
