Lendlease Inc. hosts $420M housing development ceremony at Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos)
FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — Lendlease Inc. and senior Army officials hosted a $420M housing development ceremony at 10:30 a.m. (CT) April 29 here.
Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Family Housing, a subsidiary of Lendlease, is slated to receive these funds to be invested in the demolition of and subsequent new construction of nearly 600 new junior enlisted homes; roof replacements on more than 2,300 homes; and medium renovations at more than 1,300 homes.
Officials from Lendlease Communities, Army Materiel Command, Installation Management Command and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) will participate in the event. The senior leaders’ remarks were followed by a ceremonial demolition of two homes.
Phillip Carpenter, chief operating officer, Lendlease Communities; Lt. Gen. Douglas Gabram, commanding general, Installation Management Command; Congressman Roger Williams and Col. Jason Wesbrock, commander, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos), held a press conference following the event. General Edward Daly, commanding general, Army Materiel Command, and Lt. Gen. Pat White, III Corps commanding general, also attended the event.
