FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) officials announced that due to scheduled road construction of Mohawk Road from Jan. 7 until August, two previously closed access control points will reopen.
The Old Copperas Cove West access control point on West Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) and the West Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Mohawk access control point on Clear Creek Road will open on Jan. 7 to facilitate traffic diverted for the scheduled road construction.
Motorist will not be able to drive to the main part of West Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) from the Mohawk gate. Only those trying to access the eastern hangars and buildings off Mohawk Road during construction should use the Mohawk gate on Clear Creek Road.
