FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – The 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade is scheduled to hold a change of command ceremony at 9:30 a.m. June 20 on Cooper Field here.
The ceremony is being held to formally transfer command of the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade between Col. Christopher H. Colavita, the outgoing commander, and Col. Steven N. Carozza, the incoming commander.
The change of command ceremony is a time honored U.S. Army tradition. It gives the outgoing commander the opportunity to address his Soldiers one last time. It also gives the incoming commander the opportunity to introduce himself to the Soldiers and review his formation.
