FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – A demolition ceremony will be hosted by Fort Cavazos leaders, Cavalry Family Housing and Centinel Public Partnerships, LLC, at 2 p.m. March 20 on post at McNair Village.
Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral, commanding general of III Armored Corps and Fort Cavazos, and officials from Centinel Public Partnerships, LLC, will participate in the demolition event, marking an important step in the transition toward new installation housing.
In total, 272 units will be demolished within the McNair Village footprint, which were originally built in the 1940s. This effort reflects Fort Cavazos’ ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Soldiers and their families.
It’s also a part of a broader initiative that will ultimately provide about 580 new, modernized residential facilities for junior enlisted military families here, ensuring they have access to updated, comfortable homes that meet their needs at The Great Place.
Media representatives interested in covering the event must RSVP by calling 254-368-8294 no later than 5 p.m. March 19. A public affairs representative will meet media personnel in the southside parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center at 1:30 p.m. March 20 for an escort to the site.
