Garrison commander’s statement on the Naming Commission’s recommendation to rename Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos)

FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — The following is a statement from the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) commander on the Naming Commission’s recommendation to rename Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) to Fort Cavazos after Gen. Richard Cavazos:

“It is important to remember that while the name of this post will change, the service and sacrifice by our Soldiers, Families, and Department of the Army Civilians will endure. This incredible legacy is what defines our installation,” Col. Chad R. Foster, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) commander.
