FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — The Directorate of Public Works will host an Old Georgetown Road Bridge Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. March 22.
Maj. Gen. J.T. Thomson, III Corps deputy commanding general, will make remarks.
The $9.7M highway bridge was recently completed at “Jackson’s Crossing” where Georgetown Road crosses the Cowhouse Creek.
The 450′ bridge replaced an old condemned bridge and a low-water crossing.
The completed construction of this bridge not only improves Soldier and unit safety while training on the west side of post, it also provides an all-weather, safe route for civilian traffic traveling to and from North Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos).
