Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) officials host press conference on the Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) fire response
FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Fire officials reported March 28 that the extreme fire conditions continue.
The fire currently poses no danger to any homes, structures or infrastructures. No firefighters have been injured.
Fire crews continue to cut fire breaks conduct back burn operations around the fire to minimize the fire’s ability to spread.
Col. Chad Foster, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) commander, will host a joint press conference at 1:30 p.m. March 28 to provide media with the latest on joint efforts to put out the fire. He will be joined by officials from the Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Directorate of Emergency Services and the Texas A&M Forest Service.
