FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – U.S. Army Forces Command is holding the Army’s inaugural “Best Squad Competition” at the FORSCOM level here August 15-19 as nine of the Army’s most formidable squads compete from around the country.
The squads will compete in various challenging events all over Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos), testing their physical and mental toughness and ability to work as a team. The squads have been in competition for months at local level competitions. The winner competes at the Department of the Army level in September.
“By the time the squads get to the Army level, we know they’re tactically sound,” said Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston earlier this year when announcing the competition. “So, we’re going to challenge them in ways maybe they haven’t been challenged before, see how they respond when they’re stressed in other ways.”
Competing from III Armored Corps and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) is the 89th Military Police Brigade.
Hi-resolution video and photos, including B-roll, are uploaded throughout each day of the competition at the following link: https://www.dvidshub.net/feature/FORSCOMBSC22
