FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Texas– Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) will host a Cowboys 4 Heroes event 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Phantom Warrior Center, here.
There will be free barbecue by Cowboys 4 Heroes with cowboys cooking over an open fire, a car show, and family friendly activities.
Cowboys 4 Heroes assists combat veterans during the challenging transition from active duty to civilian life. The volunteers that comprise the Cowboys 4 Heroes help veterans with combat related wounds of war as they and their families find and adjust to their new normal. Since 2010, Cowboys 4 Heroes donors and volunteers have provided more than 750,000 meals to transitioning veterans and their families while providing more than $275,000 in educational support to FFA and 4H youth.
Also, on the same day the Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Chapel Communities will host a Togetherness Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Spirit of Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Chapel parking lot. The day will be filled with music, crafts, and games for the whole family.
