FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – An Army Mobile Recruiting Team for the new Security Force
Assistance Brigades will be at Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) April 24-25 at Howze Auditorium
giving two briefs a day at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. where they’ll give a SFAB
presentation introducing Soldiers to the process on how to volunteer and all
the current incentives.
A media availability will be held with the SFAB Mobile Recruiting Team at 1 p.m.
April 24 in Howze Auditorium.
The Secretary of the Army approved the creation of SFABs in 2016 to provide
a specially designed force for security force assistance.
Security Force Assistance Brigades are specialized units whose core mission
is to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying
operations with allied and partner nations. They are not Special Forces but
SFABs are highly trained, and are among the top tactical leaders in the
Army. Their focus is to strengthen our allies and partners while supporting
this Nation’s security objectives and the combatant commanders’ warfighting
needs.
“Working by, with, and through our partners, the Coalition is defeating ISIS
in Iraq and Syria,” Lt. Gen. Paul E. Funk II, III Corps and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos)
commanding general said. “This approach to defeating the enemy and
establishing security and stability is proving remarkably successful; SFABs
are a unique opportunity for our Soldiers to use this same construct with
partner forces around the world.”
