FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — The fourth annual III Corps Lemonade Day Ribbon Cutting will commence at 5 p.m. May 4 and serve as the official kick-off for Lemonade Day weekend.
A brief ceremony will be held in the front entry area of III Corps Headquarters. III Corps Chief of Staff Col. Todd Fox will provide opening remarks and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Lemonade Day participants will be presented with their certificates of occupancy.
Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) was the first military installation to actively promote Lemonade Day, and the success of the program at Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) is now being modeled for other military communities across the country. Lemonade Day participants have spent the last few months learning how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Participants are encouraged to spend a little, save a little, give a little of their profits.
Upon registering for Lemonade Day, participants are given access to free materials to teach them how to operate their first business. Participants are encouraged to plot their lemonade stand location and hours of operation using the Brand Your Stand tool on the Lemonade Day web site to advertise their business on the Lemonade Day Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Area map. The map is a great resource for the community eager to support young entrepreneurs.
The Lemonade Day certificate of occupancy is a new feature for 2018. Participants who have determined their lemonade stand location and hours of operation will receive a certificate of occupancy for Lemonade Day Weekend (May 5-6). The Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Lemonade Day staff will be available until 6:30 p.m. that evening to distribute certificates and Lemonade Day t-shirts.
Lemonade Day is presented by Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) National Bank, along with Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Family Housing and local sponsors H-E-B, CenturyLink and Chick-fil-A with support from DFMWR.
