FORT CAVAZOS, Texas — Capt. Travis Chewning-Kulick, commander of the 752nd Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest mile run in a bomb suit April 25 at Phantom Warrior Stadium.
The current record of 7 minutes 24.21 seconds was set by Mark Gibbs in 2017. Capt. Chewning-Kulick hopes to demonstrate the physical and mental fortitude required of EOD technicians, who routinely operate in challenging and physically demanding conditions, by besting that time.
Accredited media are invited to attend this event. To RSVP, please email iiicorpspaoops@army.mil by 2 p.m. April 24. A public affairs representative will meet the media at the southside parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitors Center at 6 a.m. April 25 for an escort to the event site.
