FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – In honor of Brain Injury Awareness Month, the Fort Cavazos Intrepid Spirit Center will host its Annual Open House on 22 March from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
All Fort Cavazos and surrounding community leaders, beneficiaries, and current or prior patients are invited to come out and see the centers model of care and the value it provides to its patients, the Defense Health Agency, the Department of Defense, and the surrounding community.
The DOD’s Comprehensive Strategy for Warfighter Brain Health optimizes brain health and combats TBI by addressing multiple concerns, such as potentially hazardous events that expose the brain to potential injuries, including impacts, blows, or jolts to the head that may result in long-term effects of TBIs.
TBIs can increase the risk for mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression, as well as sleeping problems.
Media wishing to attend the ISC Open House, should call (254) 553-8005 by 3 p.m. March 21. Media must meet public affairs for escort to the open house no later than 9 a.m. March 22 in the south-side parking lot of the Fort Cavazos Marvin Leath Visitors Center on T.J. Mills Blvd.
