FORT CAVAZOS, Texas — Fort Cavazos will host its 2023 Fall Fest at the Fort beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 near the Phantom Warrior Center here.
This annual event brings the Cowboys 4 Heroes Foundation from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to Fort Cavazos to give away more than 15,000 free meals (hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, chili, and BBQ) to the entire community to say, “Thank you for your service.” There will also be a pumpkin patch, bouncy houses, face painting, and arts and crafts vendors.
That evening beginning at 5 p.m. the Phantom Warrior Center will be transformed into a Bavarian Beer Hall with German food, beer, and music filling the ballroom. Oktoberfest is open from 5 -10 p.m. It’s free and open to all. An Oompa Band will be playing. There will be children’s activities, Oktoberfest-style activities along with food and drinks available for purchase.
The C4H Foundation’s mission: “Cowboys 4 Heroes assists combat veterans during the challenging transition from active duty to civilian life. The volunteers that comprise the Cowboys 4 Heroes help veterans with combat related wounds of war as they and their families find and adjust to their new normal.
