FORT CAVAZOS, Texas — Fort Cavazos will host its 48th annual Retiree Appreciation Days Oct. 27-28 here.
The two-day event celebrates and shows appreciation for those who served their nation from all military services.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 with a retiree golf tournament at the Courses of Clear Creek. Golfers must register at the golf course. Lunch will be provided for all registered golfers.
III Armored Corps will host their monthly retirement celebration at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 in the Lone Star Conference Center. This month seven retiring service members will be honored.
On Oct. 28, the morning kicks off with coffee and pastries at 8:30 a.m. on the first floor of Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. The opening ceremony begins at 9 a.m.
A County Fair and the CRDAMC Health Fair, providing immunizations and other routine health screenings, will start at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 and continues until 2 p.m.
The second day of events will wrap up with a 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment demonstration beginning at 2 p.m. at the stables behind the visitor’s center.
Legal assistance will be available to retirees from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 28 in Bldg. 13, 52nd Street (on the west side of the III Armored Corps headquarters building).
ID Card services will be available for retirees and their family members from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 28 in Bldg. 130, on the corner of T.J. Mills Boulevard and Legends Way.
Lunch, featuring a variety of entrees, is available to retirees and their families for $7.65 a person from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Iron Horse Warrior Restaurant.
