FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Feb. 6 from a terminal illness in Irving, Texas.
Pfc. John Paul Funderburk Jr., 24, whose home of record is listed as Irving, Texas, entered active-duty service in January 2016 as a utilities equipment repairer.
He was assigned to the Warrior Transition Brigade, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos), since November 2017.
Funderburk’s awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
