FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and Texas A&M University Health Science Center will sign an affiliation agreement establishing CRDAMC as a clinical training site for Texas A&M College of Medicine students. The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 here.
As a clinical training site, CRDAMC will provide education and training to Texas A&M medical students. This all-important step in advancing the academic collaboration supports the hospital’s medical readiness mission by providing leadership opportunities for medical personnel.
The collaboration aligns with Texas A&M’s strong military history and service-minded mission and affords Texas A&M medical students with unique specialty rotations in an exceptional training facility, further diversifying the college’s clinical opportunities.
Ceremony participants include: Congressman John Carter; Scott Cosper and Hugh Shine, Texas State Representatives; John Sharp, chancellor Texas A&M University System; Michael Young, president Texas A&M University, Carrie Byington, dean Texas A&M College of Medicine, along with Col. Mark W. Thompson, CRDAMC commander and other leaders.
