FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center will hold its annual Walk to Remember Oct. 22 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Cavazos III Armored Corps walking trail.
The start point and butterfly release will be at the intersection of Tank Destroyer Boulevard and 58th Street.
Hosted by the hospital’s Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care, the purpose of the walk is to provide comfort and spiritual support to parents and loved ones who have suffered a pregnancy or infant loss.
The event is held annually during October’s National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month to highlight the difficult issues of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth and neonatal death.
The event will include speakers offering words of encouragement and end with a butterfly release in memory of the loss, as well as promote healing.
The Walk to Remember is open to all Fort Cavazos Soldiers, family members, employees and retirees of the Fort Cavazos community who have suffered a pregnancy and/or infant loss or who would like to come out for support.
Media representatives interested in covering this event should RSVP with CRDAMC Public Affairs by calling (254) 553 – 6218 or (254) 338 – 6087 by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21.
