FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center is hosting 26 Soldiers from 12 regional medical treatment facilities (MTF) who will be battling it out this week at Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) to earn the title of Army Medicine central region Best Warrior. The “Best Warriors ,” who have won their respective military treatment facility’s command-level competition, hail from Army Medicine’s Regional Health Command – Central MTFs in Texas, California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri .
During the weeklong competition, which will be held at various Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) locations April 10-14, Soldiers will compete in grueling field tests, along with administrative tests and boards. The Regional Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and Soldier of the Year will then represent the region during Army Medicine’s Best Warrior Competition May 2-4.
