FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – The III Armored Corps hosted eight representatives during a Congressional delegation visit Sept. 18.
Members from the House Armed Services Committee and the Committee of Oversight and Reform met with junior enlisted Soldiers and junior enlisted spouses, received updates from command teams, Department of Emergency Services, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, and the Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program.
“The past several months have been difficult and challenging at Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos),” said Maj. Gen. John B. Richardson IV, III Corps deputy commanding general.
“We will work collectively with our communities, Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) units, U.S. Army Forces Command, the Department of the Army and our elected officials to address these complex and challenging issues,” said Richardson.
Members of the congressional delegation included Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif; Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas; Rep. Gilbert Cisneros, D-Calif.; Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo.; Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass.; Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass.; Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas; and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass.
