Cav Week 103
What: The 1st Cavalry Division will be celebrating 103 years of proud Army heritage since its establishment in 1921. A week of observances, sports, and ceremonies culminate on the division’s 103rd birthday on 13 Sept. The week begins with a 9/11 memorial run, and ends with a special ceremony held on Cooper Field on Friday. Troopers and their families are invited to participate in sports competitions and other fun activities throughout the week.
Who: Brig. Gen. Robert Born hosts along with 1st Cavalry Division alumni, veterans, troopers, families, and command teams who will attend and participate.
Where: Several events will be centered around the 1st Cavalry Division Headquarters on Fort Cavazos.
When: Begins Sep. 11 at 0630, ends on Sep. 13, 6 p.m.
Why: We are “America’s First Team!” Cav Week is held every year to build esprit de corps, reinforce team cohesion, and celebrate the rich history of the 1st Cavalry Division. Troopers, family, and friends of the Division are invited to take time off to compete in friendly sporting events and embrace our heritage and the teams within the formation.
For media, the primary location will be at 28000 W 761st Tank Battalion Ave, Fort Cavazos, TX 76544. Alternate locations for sporting events will be provided by POC.
