Air Cav to welcome home more than 100 troopers from Iraq
FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas — The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade will conduct a welcome home ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. on March 1 on Cooper Field here.
More than 100 Soldiers from Company F, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, are returning from a nine-month deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
The company performed a wide variety of attack reconnaissance, security, and target acquisition missions and flew nearly 14,000 combat flight hours to support coalition forces. During their deployment, the company provided Unmanned Aircraft Systems to 1000 different sortie operations.
