FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – 1st Cavalry Division will welcome a new command sergeant major during a assumption of responsibility ceremony 9 a.m. May 12 at Cooper Field.
Command Sgt. Maj. LeVares J. Jackson Sr. comes to Fort Hood from Fort Benning, GA, after serving as the United States Army Armor School and Maneuver Center of Excellence command sergeant major.
LeVares, originally from Lima, Ohio, entered the Army in 1995 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He has served in various leadership positions during his 27-year Army career leading him to assume responsibility of the largest division in the United States Army.
