The 1st Cavalry Division announces that they will conduct M109A7 Paladin first fire on 16 September 2020.
The GREYWOLF Brigade, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, received the new M109A7 Paladin as part of the Army’s continued modernization efforts. The M109A7 Paladin is an enhanced artillery system that offers key-support for a variety of potential combat missions. The M109A7 Paladin includes upgrades to its hull, turret, engine and suspension systems to offer increased reliability, survivability and performance.
The first fire will begin around 10:00 a.m.
Media desiring to cover the first fire event must RSVP to Master Sgt. Miriam Espinoza at miriam.espinozatorres.mil@mail.mil no later than 3.p.m on Sep 15.
Media attending will conduct a COVID screening prior to entry on Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) and must provide their own masks. Media will also be required to wear a helmet and vest for range safety, which will be provided upon arrival.
A public affairs representative will meet the media at the south parking lot of Marvin Leath Visitors Center located on T. J. Mills Blvd. at 0835 a.m. for an escort to the event.
