FORT HOOD (Now designated Fort Cavazos), Texas – The 1st Cavalry Division headquarters is scheduled to conduct a retreat ceremony Friday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. on Cooper Field here where two deputy commanders will be promoted to brigadier general.

Col.  Miles Brown, Deputy Commander – Support, and Col. Christopher R. Norrie, Deputy Commander – Maneuver, will be promoted during the ceremony. Both are already promotable.

This ceremony will be hosted by Maj. Gen. Paul Calvert, 1st Cavalry Division Commanding General, and will also feature the 1st Cavalry Division Honor Guard, 1st Cavalry Division Horse Cavalry Detachment, and the 1st Cavalry Division Band.
