The 1st Cavalry Division is scheduled to conduct a Welcome Home ceremony Friday morning at 10:15 a.m. on Cooper Field for more than 100 Troopers from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team.
More than 3,000 Greywolf Troopers are returning in the coming weeks from a nine-month deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve.
In total, Greywolf Soldiers deployed to eight different countries and conducted 12 different exercises with partner nations.
Greywolf Soldiers provided fire support and advise, train and assist support to Operation Inherent Resolve in the fight against ISIS.
Media attending this event will be able to film Soldiers disembarking the aircraft at Robert Gray Army Airfield, as well as the Welcome Home ceremony at Cooper Field. 3rd Armored Brigade will also have a subject matter expert available for interview from 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment after the ceremony.
Attending media should be at the Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) Visitors Center no later than 9:15 a.m. for escort.
