Houston is a community partner of the 13th ESC and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos). Last July the Houston Astros opened their home filed at Minute Maid Park before a game against the Chicago White Sox so Brig. Gen. Darren Werner, Commanding General of the 13th ESC, could reenlist over 100 III Corps Soldiers. This visit is a way for the 13th ESC and Fort Hood (Now designated Fort Cavazos) to extend gratitude for the wonderful opportunities the city of Houston and the Astros have provided and to continue to build partnerships with the city.
